PA-21 Dell XPS M1330 And Inspiron 1300 1545 65W Notebook AC Power Adapter
A family member of mine has a Dell XPS M1330 laptop pc and asked if I could get them a new power adapter since the current one broke somehow (I find it easier not to ask questions sometimes lol). Now back to the dell notebook ac.
This laptop ac adapter I found under many part numbers such as NX061, HR763, PA-1650-02DW, LA65NS2-00, YR733 and 310-9249.
Here is what you should know about Dell's PA-21 65W AC Adapter if your in the market for a new one:
-Voltage Provided: 19.5V | 100 - 240 V ~ 50-60Hz
-Max Amps Out: 3.34A
-Watt Power: 65 Watts
You should also note that the same p/n's work in laptop computer models: Dell XPS M1330 Models and the Inspiron 1318, 1545 notebooks require part number PA-21.

I have a newer Inspiron 1545. The original adapter has an octagonal tip and is from the PA-21 family. When that adapter died, Dell sent me an adapter from the PA-12 family with a round tip. It doesn’t work. I spent several hours being transferred around Dell with each associate saying that the PA-12 adapter will work. I’ve found that the PA-21 octagonal tipped adapter has dimensions of 7.9mm * 5.0mm while the replacement PA-12 round tipped adapter has dimensions of 7.4mm * 5.0mm causing it to not fit as snug. The insides of the tips are very different as well. Despite my requests for Dell to send something from the PA-21 family, Dell insists on sending yet another “compatible” PA-12 adapter. Frustrated, I’ve found a PA-21 replacement elsewhere, but now I’m concerned that it really doesn’t matter whether it’s from the PA-12 or PA-21 family. Is this true?
