Bryon,

100% just buy a new genuine brand AC for the $20. The 65W died because your laptop needs 90W to run at factory standards and using the 65W just put too much strain on it which caused it to overheat and burnout. Never use a lower wattage then what originally came with your machine. You are lucky no fire started or damage was done to the laptop.

If you try to fix your old 65W, even if you manage to get it working... it will burn out again within a few hours of use and could cause a fire or perm damage to your laptop this time. Which part number do you need or for what model laptop?

Hello laptop ac adapter, I did something really stupid. On my portable adapter that is powered by a 90W... I plugged in a 65W power adapter that fit and did work but now it will not work anymore. Is there any way I can fix it? My uncle said something about a fuse probably being blown due to the 65W being overused and could of overheated? He wants me to go to radio shack and rebuild my current laptop ac adapter which I don't think is safe personally. After seeing how buying a new power supply is less than $20, do you think I should just get a new 90W or save the few bucks and try to fix the 65W?

Is he or myself on the right track? If not, can you point me in the right direction.

Thanks so much.
